Meet your Net Zero Emissions Targets and Improve Operating Performance

A TRUSTED ADVISOR: ORTECH CONSULTING

Begin your journey to Net Zero Emissions with a trusted advisor that will help you build your roadmap from wherever you are on your sustainability journey. We will deliver a comprehensive GHG assessment covering Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions from which optimized operations, energy savings and corresponding reduction in GHG emission will be tracked.

Our roadmap will define exactly what steps are required, and when those steps need to be made to achieve your targets and timelines. In this way, we can successfully navigate a balance between cost savings and investment to achieve your sustainability goals.

5-STEPS FOR A SUCCESSFUL NET ZERO EMISSIONS STRATEGY

  1. REVIEW: To plan your path forward its important to establish an accurate and comprehensive GHG assessment of your operations existing emissions. This initial review will lead to an evaluation of the options available to reduce emissions to your applicable targets.

  2. REDUCE: Once you’ve reviewed your options and have decided how to move forward, it’s time to act. Before you even consider a significant capital expenditure it is important to assess what can be immediately implemented and which initiatives may take more time. A ranking system will be established to provide a path to achieving your targets.

  3. PRODUCE: No matter how much you optimize your operations and facility, some amount of low emission energy production is required. To reach net-zero, your operation must produce energy on-site by installing some form of renewable energy generation. This is typically done in the form of harnessing renewable energy such as geo-thermal, solar, wind and fuel switching. Using these renewable sources to produce energy can help offset the total amount of operational and facility emissions.

  4. PROCURE: Offsetting the entire emissions of an operation or facility using on-site renewable energy sources can be a significant challenge and is often not feasible or possible. When energy reduction measures and the on-site renewable energy production isn’t quite enough to bring your building to net-zero, then it may be necessary to procure the remaining energy from green energy retailer, or through the purchasing of clean energy credits (RECs) and carbon credits.

  5. VERIFY: Monitoring and verifying emission reductions is an ongoing and important step to maintaining your plan and delivering excellence across your initiatives. Our monitoring support can ensure the success of your investments over the long term.

A ROADMAP FOR A SUCCESSFUL NET ZERO OUTCOME

Net Zero Emissions operations or facilities are those which offset as much greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions on-site—through emission reduction solutions, energy efficiency, and renewable resources— as they consume. Retrofitting to meet this standard can be a significant challenge and will require detailed planning. The journey can seem overwhelming and complex with fast moving changes in regulation, incentives, and technology.

Our Net Zero Emission Roadmap is your proven path to achieving your decarbonization goals while optimizing building performance. With more than 50 years of experience in providing emission assessments and monitoring, we are your ideal partner to create and execute on a Road Map to take you to your desired destination and results.
